WW&T: The Story Behind the Picture
Nov 02, 2022 Episode 16
Dr. Pan Zhang

In this week's walk and talk, we talk about pictures, and what they really mean.

You've probably had them before: x-rays, MRIs, CT scans, maybe even ultrasounds. With all the information you've gotten from these images, what does it really mean to you and your chronic pain?

Do the list if diagnoses from your MRI cause you anxiety and fear? Things such as degenerative disc disease, or stenosis, or even disc bulges or herniations all sound like they're not very good for you; but is that what is really causing your pain?

On the flip side, if you've been having pain for a long time but your imaging studies come back clean--meaning that they can't SEE anything, does that mean that the pain is just in your head? (Spoilers: the answer is no.).

I'll go into these topics and how to really use this information and incorporate it into your chronic pain journey.

Are you finding these Walk and Talks helpful? If so, please subscribe to the channel! I'd also love to hear from you (its lonely on this side of the screen), and let me know what questions you have about your pictures!
